🚀📚 Blast Off Into Books! SWARM Together and Explore New Worlds This March! 🌍🐝
March is Reading Month, Miss Sopocy’s 6th graders had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with the Kindergarteners for a special reading experience! 📖💛 Watching these students engage with their younger peers, build positive relationships, and foster a love for reading was truly heartwarming. 💕
This kind of teamwork strengthens our school community and shows the power of learning together. So proud of all the students for being such great reading role models! 📚✨

4th graders and 1st graders shared their love of reading today!

Today was filled with joy as our sixth graders paired up with Kindergarten students for buddy reading! It was such an engaging opportunity to build community and share the love of books. The smiles on their faces say it all! Such experiences are invaluable for both age groups, encouraging mentorship and collaboration. #SwarmTogether

Today, our students had an exceptional experience as they explored the Sky Dome during our 'Launch into the Universe of Reading' month. This engaging opportunity was made possible through the invaluable support of our PTO and Mrs. Ostroske. Our students gained insights into our galaxy and planets, fostering a love for reading and learning.

Look who's leading the Read-A-Thon at North Elementary! Keep up the good work! Thank you all for supporting our schools!

It's beginning to look like Reading Month at North Elementary! We are decorating doors and launching into reading lots of good books!

Thank you to our amazing PTO for allowing Mr. DeRosia's class an engaging and amazing opportunity at the Midland Center of the Arts "The Infinite" experience!

Sixth graders were hard at work in their teams today! They are collaborating on their unit projects, designing and building phone cases to protect a mock cell phone from collision forces! They had to apply many science ideas about force, as well as understand constraints and criteria to build an ideal solution. Now, onto the testing phase!

Sharing a book is a great way to start a Monday morning! Students at North kicked off reading month by listening to staff members read great stories! We are "Launching into the Universe of Reading!

5th graders were engaged in a mock trial court case about the 1775 "Patriots vs Loyalists" arguments!

Dear North Families,
With the weather changing constantly, please make sure students have the proper clothing everyday for recess! Have a great weekend!

We are proud to recognize our February Students of the Month, who exemplify the Positivity Project Character Strengths: Humility, Forgiveness, Love, and cheering others' success. Their achievements reflect our commitment to empowering excellence and fostering leadership in our community. Congratulations to these remarkable individuals! #SwarmTogether

Today, our 6th graders embraced engaging opportunities to prepare for their upcoming math test. By solving problems around the room, they are not only becoming proficient in calculating the area of triangles, trapezoids, and parallelograms but also mastering volume concepts. This hands-on approach empowers excellence and fosters an environment of engaged problem solvers. #SwarmTogether

Third graders continued their weather work by constructing snow plows out of legos and Edison robots in STEAM lab. The challenge was to clear snow (plastic cups) from a parking lot in as few passes as possible. Many teams revised until their plows could get all the snow in one pass!

Our PTO Read-a-Thon will officially kick-off next Friday! Get your child registered today and help us reach our goal to raise funds for elementary field trips.

58" tall! These kids worked hard to build this fort during their recesses!

Show your school spirit tomorrow by wearing Blue & Gold, Maize & Blue, or Green & White!

4th graders made their reading come alive! After reading about the settling of JamesTown, they created dioramas of what they pictured it looking like in 1610.

Fifth graders created models of Earth's orbit around the sun using sphero mini robots. It proved to be quite tricky coding the "Earth" to get to each season!

Dear North Families,
I hope you have a wonderful Valentine's Day and enjoy the snow this weekend!
