We are so thankful that Project Full and the De Saegher family provide snacks for all of our students at North Elementary! Once the snacks get delivered, you can see it takes a team working together to distribute the snacks efficiently!

Third graders started their climate unit by creating models of the three climate zones in STEAM lab. Successful models allowed a marble "traveler" to roll from the polar zone, through the temperate zone, and land in the toasty tropical zone!

Our 4th and 6th graders had a truly special experience today for March is Reading Month! We were honored to host a guest reader who shared more than just a book—he shared his personal story in education. Our guest spoke movingly about his own journey in education, what school was like for him, and why it is so important to value reading every single day. He shared the classic story "Thank You, Mr. Falker" by Patricia Polacco. This powerful book reminds us all that with the right support and a lot of "grit," any student can overcome obstacles to become a great reader. It was the perfect message for our 6th graders as they prepare for the challenges of junior high! A huge thank you to our guest, Mr. Paul Hungerford, for taking the time to inspire our students and remind us why we love our school community.

Our 5th graders have been diving deep into the properties of matter, and today they put their knowledge to the ultimate test! Today they had to discover a way to separate a complex mixture of sand, packing peanuts, paper clips, and rocks. Before diving in, students worked in engaging collaborative teams to truly "think like scientists." They strategized and debated which tools would be most effective based on size, magnetism, and density. From using sieves to magnets, it was incredible to see their theories put into practice as they successfully isolated each material!

Our 4th graders got hands-on with geometry today! Using tape on the floor and a map of Ithaca, they explored parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting lines—bringing math to life through movement and real-world connections!
