Dear North Families,
IMPORTANT: Please remember that there will be no school on Tuesday, November 5th for students. Thank you and have a great weekend!

November is Homeless Awareness Month and we’re excited to be partnering with United Way of Gratiot & Isabella Counties to raise money for Gratiot County Hope House through a coin war challenge called “Coins for a Cause”! Start saving and collecting your coins to send with your student! The classroom that raises the most amount of money will win a PIZZA PARTY!

North Elementary would like to wish the high school cross country good luck 🍀 at the State Finals.

Master Splinter, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and April O'Neil take on Shredder at North Elementary.

Check out all of the creative 3rd grade costumes!! Thank you to all the families and community members for showing up to watch our parade through Ithaca! Happy Halloween!

5th grade students worked in collaborative pairs while writing spooky acrostic poems.

We're thrilled to announce our Students of the Month! These students exemplify the Positivity Project Character Strengths: being present and giving others their full attention, showing unwavering integrity, and embracing creativity in everything they do! Let's give them a round of applause! #SwarmTogether

HELP FOR THE HOLIDAYS:
If your family would like to request help during the holiday season, please fill out the red half sheet of paper that was sent home during parent/teacher conferences and in Friday Folders and turn into the school office as soon as possible.. If you need help but do not have the paperwork, please call the office (989-875-3047) and we will be sure to send the paperwork home to you.

We are thrilled to share that we achieved a 92% attendance rate at our recent parent-teacher conferences! This incredible turnout shows the power of collaboration and the positive relationships we are building together. Thank you for attending! #SwarmTogether

4th graders used their creativity to highlight important events from the novel we just finished.

Sixth graders learned how to play bocce ball and then put a STEAM twist to the game by using Dash robots. Each team coded their robot to launch their balls as close to the target as possible. The team that got their balls to land closest to the target won the round. Sport engineering at its finest!

Fifth graders extended their hydrosphere unit by constructing water towers that could hold mini water bottles (filled with water) at least 5 inches off the ground and stand on their own. We had lots of great ideas and working designs!

Today, our 6th graders participated in a field trip to the school woods, focusing on conservation science, nature photography, and environmental education. These engaging opportunities provide valuable experiences that empower our students to become problem solvers in a complex world. A special thank you to our field guides and Mrs. Hindbaugh-Marr for facilitating such impactful learning experiences. #SwarmTogether

What a gorgeous day for our 3rd grade adventure to the school woods! Huge thank you and shout out to our community members and Mrs. Hindbaugh Marr for their dedication and support toward creating engaging opportunities for our kids.

Dear North Families,
Wow! We are halfway through the 1st trimester! As you are preparing for your child's Halloween costume, please make sure to follow the expectations sent home in the previous The Buzz. You can also find the costume information on the North Elementary Facebook page.
