Students at North were tasked with creating a string showcasing who they are, what is important to them, and/or things they are interested in. Once all strings were finished they were hung in our library to become a Community Curtain inspired by artist Rebecca Louise Law. The North Community Curtain is meant to be an immersive art experience giving all of our students a chance to be creative and share a part of themselves within our school community.

Congratulations to our Principal for the Day winners: Principal Bowen, Principal Davis, Principal Bovee, and Principal Styka! Some staff are already getting questionable raises! Principal Bowen sure knows how to dress! Also, congrats to Ms. Bush's class for earning the ice cream sundae party and Amazon gift cards for Ms. Bush!

Dear North Families,
Please do not forget about the carnival this evening! The PTO has prepared a very fun evening! We hope to see everyone tonight!

Thank you for supporting our Read-a-Thon fundraiser this year. The month of March kept our students busy--they read over 21 MILLION WORDS! And thanks to our incredible community, we raised over $17,000 to be used for field trips and experiences for North and South elementary students.

Today we celebrated meeting our March is Reading Month goal with a dance party! Our students read over 20 million words! Special thank you to Mr. DJ DeRosia for the fun afternoon!

Only a few hours left to donate!

4th graders ended Reading Month with finger flashlight Friday!

We are excited to recognize this month's Students of the Month! Our sixth graders were inspired this week by a local manufacturing professional who read "Metal Man," a story about self-discovery and artistic vision. This event was offered by Gratiot-Isabella RESD Career Navigators, providing students with guest readers from various career clusters throughout March is Reading Month. These collaborations not only empower our youth but also strengthen our community.

With 7 days left in our fundraiser, our leaderboard is listed below. Team Sopocy is in 4th place--just a few dollars behind Team Workman. Great work Jackets! Final prizes will be awarded after Spring Break!

Friday: Clone Wars Day – Dress as twins with a friend and show off your matching outfits!

Way to go! North Elementary will be accepting donations until 11:59 p.m. on March 28th.

Fourth graders worked to reduce soil erosion by designing plows that would leave "old plant parts" (beads) on top of the soil (carpet) and only till up the rows needing to be planted. Edison robots served as the tractors!

Thursday: Space Jam Day – Represent your favorite sports team by wearing a jersey or team shirt! Whether it's basketball, football, soccer, or another favorite, show your team spirit!

It was fun to have a guest reader join Ms. Bush's room for Reading Month! The students listened to Kiley Kochensparger read Salt in His Shoes and learned how hard Michael Jordan had to work to
achieve his dream. They were also very interested in Kiley's jobs- helping high schoolers pursue career interests and refereeing basketball games!

4th graders had an exciting Science afternoon at Alma College! They were engaged in chemical reactions, learning about animals, and testing their high jump height!
