Thank you PTO for giving each classroom funds for supplies this year. Sixth graders tested their boats in the gutters that we purchased for our STEAM lab--they were a huge hit!

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Perspective. Perspective means you appreciate when people see things in different ways. You have the ability to understand the world from multiple points of view.
Perspective is also referred to as wisdom and is distinct from intelligence. People with this strength are sought out for advice because they see the big picture and can make sense of the world’s complexity. This strength of perspective gives individuals the ability to see to the heart of difficult matters and achieve clarity. Most importantly, they are honest and behave in an ethically consistent manner.

5th graders made creative photosynthesis models for science lessons this week.

As an extension of their science work with animal senses, fourth graders constructed scientific models of basset hounds to demonstrate how long ears, short legs, and long noses contribute to this breed's amazing sense of smell.

5th graders engaged in positive learning during their field trip to Forest Hill Nature Center!

Congratulations to Mason Toth for completing the Scholastic Summer Reading!! Way to go working on your individual learning experience throughout the summer!!

This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset (OPM) of Being Present and Giving Others My Attention. This means when I’m with other people, I’m present and give them my full attention.
This element of the Other People Mindset is so important today due to the increasing number of distractions vying for our time and attention. Phone calls, text messages, emails, social media notifications all have the dangerous capacity to pull us away from the present moment and, what’s most important -- our relationships with other people.

Picture day is TOMORROW Monday, September 25th!!
You may order now at mylifetouch.com using the code from the forms sent home or on picture day by returning the Lifetouch form with payment enclosed.
All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook even if you do not purchase photos.

4th graders learned the importance of The Constitution this week. They worked in groups to share ideas and were able to create their own class constituition.

Sixth graders developed a better understanding of wearable fitness trackers when working with our code cubes. Creating codes to play rock, paper, scissors based on arm movements was a perfect way to build positive relationships in STEAM!

The 5th graders visited the cemetery to learn more about using sources and history of our community for information!
