Mrs. Whitford’s students read Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins in STEAM lab today. They created skateboards for their pumpkins, just like the pumpkins used in the story!

First graders in Mrs. Schaeding’s class enjoyed Pumpkin Day today! Students moved throughout stations in the classroom and participated in several hands-on pumpkin activities.





Fire Safety this week 🚒🔥♥️




Second graders created escape paths for ozobots as an extension of their fire safety work this week!




We started our Fire Safety outside but Mother Nature brought us in. Regardless, 1st graders had fun and learned a lot about Fire Safety.

South Elementary GSRP is prepared for a rainy day!!


Today in STEAM lab, Mrs. Whitford’s students learned about the gear firefighters wear!





First graders experimented with our new Smart Farmer games in STEAM lab. They were challenged to place animals in specific spots and then decide how to arrange fences so each type of animal had a separate area on the farm. Thank you Gratiot County Community Foundation for funding these games and helping our students understand just one of the ways STEAM skills can be used on a farm.
