Even rival fans can bond over a good book!

We are so thankful that Pheasants Forever continues to support nature-based learning in our district! Fourth graders used their knowledge of land features and animals to play a new card game purchased with Pheasants Forever funds. They had a great time sharpening their science skills!

Sixth grade students are launching into a new force and motion unit! Students were "problem investigators" today. They observed multiple collisions with objects of different mass and at different amounts of force. They analyzed their observations to see that changing the force and mass will affect the results of the collision!

Dear North Families,
Can you believe we made it through the first month of 2025 already? We hope you have a great weekend! Swarm Together, Mrs. Rayburn

Movement + Learning = Success! Our 6th graders just completed an engaging activity that combined movement with learning as they dove into the 1960s. Through a sticky note gallery walk, students had empowering opportunities to express their thoughts and collaborate in a positive learning environment.

Happy National Puzzle Day! Our library is the place to be for engaging opportunities! Students are having a blast solving puzzles together, creating a welcoming learning environment and building positive relationships. #SwarmTogether

We are getting ready for our Invention Convention! Students are putting the finishing touches on their prototypes and displays, so be sure to come check out their finished projects Thursday, February 6 from 6:00-7:30!

We are proud to recognize our January Students of the Month, who exemplifies the key traits of Optimism, Prudence, Perseverance, and Social Intelligence, as highlighted in our recent Positivity Project. These qualities are essential not only in academic success but also in building strong interpersonal relationships. #SwarmTogether

5th graders from North and 1st graders from South collaborated and used teamwork on a STEAM project about shadows!! Thank you to Mrs. Hindbaugh-Marr for running it.

Thank you to the CMU Women's Basketball Team for inviting our families to attend the game today! Fire Up Chips!

Due to our school cancellations, the only lunch option Thursday, January 23rd will be PB & J sack lunch. Friday we will be back on track using the school lunch calendar.

There is still time to order your copy of the North Elementary Yearbook!

Unfortunately school is cancelled tomorrow and CMU is unable to reschedule the event; however they would love to have any student(s) and their families to come to the game still. They will have a list of schools who were participating in the Hoops for Hunger game and the ticket office will get you into the game for free!

If your 3rd-6th grader is looking for ways to fill these cold days, suggest working on the Invention Convention project! All North Elementary students have started creating unique solutions for problems in their daily lives, and there are plenty of things that can be done at home to prepare projects for display on our family night February 6!
5th graders were engaged in hands on learning with Omni cubes to help their math and building skills!

Hi North Families,
Can you believe we are halfway through our 2nd trimester of the year? Time buzzes by when you are learning a lot!
Swarm Together,
Mrs. Rayburn

Learning with food is always a favorite! 4th graders were able to simulate plate tectonics using hard boiled eggs and graham crackers with frosting!

Empowering excellence in the classroom! Our sixth graders are having a blast with Hands on Equations, turning algebra into an engaging and fun unit! Using manipulatives of pawns and number cubes, they’re not just learning, they’re becoming confident problem solvers. #SwarmTogether
