The Junior High First Tech Challenge Robotic team had the opportunity to give a demonstration of their robot to the 4th and 5th grade First LEGO League teams yesterday.

The junior high agriscience class loves the World Food prize final project to finish off the class. This week, students learned about various countries around the world and the agricultural factors with those countries. Also, these students brought in a food product from their country. We had waffles from Belgium, pizza from Italy, chicken kabobs from Japan, chocolate from Germany, Mexican corn dip from Mexico, and so much more.
Chemistry students had the opportunity to choose an element to complete some research on and present to their classmates before final exams. Here are some students showing their creativity with the symbols for their Element Projects!

These FFA members competed in the regional Michigan Farm Bureau Discussion meet today at Delta college. They discussed agricultural topics in three rounds with FFA, 4-H & Farm Bureau members from across the region. Moving onto the state level discussion meet is Brent DeSaegher. Brent will compete on December 4 in Grand Rapids. Congratulations to Samantha Taylor, Viola Donovan & Brent DeSaegher for a great job today!
It was great pleasure to meet up with Jamie Eichorn from Syngenta at the National FFA Convention. Jamie is an Ithaca High School & Ithaca FFA Alum. Jamie chatted with the Ithaca FFA members about the projects in the agriscience program and the land lab. Jamie also nominated Ithaca FFA to be one of the Syngenta Blue Jacket Recipients. Our chapter received a donation towards the agriscience program and two FFA jackets which will be going towards Ithaca FFA members. Thank you Jamie and Syngenta for supporting our chapter.
The Jr High Robotics team had their first competition Saturday battling back from a hard first round to place 12th out of 35! This team is ready to put their learning to work and face their next competition in a couple weeks!

7th graders practice work with algebraic expressions by completing a scavenger hunt. Students work collaboratively while using skills of adding like terms, using distributive property and creating expressions to match specific scenarios.

Congratulations to the National Honors Society class of 2024-2025.
Ithaca agriscience classes were chosen to host future agricultural education teachers from Michigan State University. 3 MSU seniors and their advisor spent the day in Ithaca teaching animal science, crop science & livestock judging to junior high students and high school students. It was a great experience for Ithaca students to learn from these soon-to-be teachers. Good luck to these MSU students who will be student teaching in various schools in Michigan starting in January. We enjoyed you being a Yellowjacket for the day.

Announcements
PSAT testing in room 107 today. Remember to be respectful of testers and keep voices and lockers quiet when in the hallway. Bells will be turned on when testing is complete.
Attention 10th and 12th graders: Jostens will be here on Friday to meet with you. 10th graders to talk about class rings and 12th graders to talk about cap and gowns. They will meet with the seniors first starting at 8:30 and I will call the 10th graders down when they are finished.
