The Ithaca FFA is excited to announce they are a recipient of a $10,000 grant from ACH Seeds - Crystal Beet Seed. A recipient is chosen one per state in the sugar beet region across the United States. The application was submitted in May then a personal interview with key stakeholders was given by Ms. Leslie Siefka, Pazlee Donovan, chapter President, Riley Skinner, & Evan Wood in June. Yesterday, ACH Seeds marketing team conducted a video shoot with Ms. Siefka, Evan & Riley for national press. The grant funds will support new tile drainage in the 50 acre FFA land lab.

Congratulations to the 27 IHS students who scored a 3 or higher on AP tests (missing Aubrey C) along with the 17 graduated students who also scored 3 or higher!

Media Center hours for back to school. Don't wait until the first day to get your books or make your schedule changes!

2025-26 Schedules are now visible in PowerSchool. Remember these are subject to change until the first day of school so be sure to check PowerSchool again on day 1! Paper copies will be mailed out Monday. Schedule change dates are August 13-14th 8a-3p. All T1 schedule changes need to be made prior to the first day of school. If you have duplicate classes you need to email your preference to Mrs Skeith. If you completed a summer school class or plan to test out, your schedule will be adjusted once those grades are entered

Yesterday our junior high FFA members, Evan Wood, Brody Morris, & Molly Lake learned how to plant sunflowers on the smaller FFA land lab. It was an exciting day since Loren Roslund, Ithaca FFA Alum & Molly’s grandpa showed these members how to plant and grow these sunflowers. We learned he used his same John Deere tractor that he used 50 years ago on the same plot of land when he was in Ithaca FFA. What a great history lesson it was for everyone. It’s been many years since the 3 acres have been farmable. Thank you to Weburg Farms for taking the time to work the ground up and get it ready to plant. A huge thank you to Loren Roslund, Weburg Farms, & Nutrien Ag for the donation of the seed and fertilizer. We appreciate the support in our community! We plan to have some exciting plans with these sunflowers later in the summer.

Meet up and Eat up

The FFA land lab has a new face this starting this year. Freshman FFA member Riley Skinner is responsible for the planting and harvesting of the FFA soybeans for her SAE project. This week, Riley and her dad Brent Skinner, Ithaca FFA Alum finished planting the beans.

Ithaca Public Schools will be participating in Meet Up and Eat Up again this year. 7 Day packs can be picked up by parents or guardians starting June 10th between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. Distributions will be every Tuesday through August 18. In an attempt to make sure we have enough packs available for the entire community we are asking that you email ahanna@ithacaschools.net to get on the list for pick-ups. This is a first come first serve distribution and being on the list does not guarantee that we will not run out of food before you get here. Thank you for helping us try to serve the entire community. We plan on having 225 packs available on June 10th. See you there.
