Juniors practice using the digital SAT platform learning about its embedded calculator and other testing features. Getting actual practice for this test helps student feel more comfortable and confident when they take the actual SAT in the spring.
So many cool things happening recently at IHS! Mr. Marcy's art students began a new project. Fiber (textile) art uses man-made or synthetic fibers to recreate visual illustrations. Kids decided on an illustration they liked, and then used yarn on a porous background to re-imagine it.
8th graders learned how to solve literal equations for particular variables. Then, they solved equations to spell their names.
8th graders studied transformation including rotations, reflections, translations and dilation. They ended the unit applying these transformations to make a tessellation.
Great kids make a great school! High achievers on the field, and in the classroom!
ZFS is hosting the Pass, Punt, Kick challenge at halftime of the carpet football game on October 24th.
Interested students can register by scanning the QR code. Two students will be randomly chosen to punt and pass the football down the field. Where the ball lands they attempt a field goal. If success students can will a $100 gift card (and both participants receive a $25 gift card just for trying).

The Ithaca Marching Band traveled to Cedar Springs HS for their first competition of the year. They had a great performance and earned awards for marching and color guard excellence.
