Students in Mrs. Schaeding’s class have been learning about community helpers and their roles in the community. Today we celebrated Community Helper Day by dressing up. We appreciate our community helpers and all that you do for our community!

Dear South First Grade Parents/Guardians, The 1st grade field trip to Reed Park has been rescheduled to tomorrow, Friday Oct. 21, 2022. The buses are planning on leaving South at 9:00 AM and returning to South at 11:00 AM. The weather forecast is predicting partly cloudy and temperatures from 37-49 during that time. We will be outside, so please send your child with appropriate outside clothing. The trail through the woods may be wet, so a pair of boots would be a good idea. Mrs. Schaeding's classroom will still participate in their Community Worker day. Students may wear their dress items on the field trip or can change into them after the classes return to school. Please plan ahead :) Thank you for being flexible as we changed the date due to weather. Friday is looking much better than the beginning of the week did and our students are looking forward to the trip! South First Grade

Mrs. Whitford’s students read Pete the Cat: Five Little Pumpkins in STEAM lab today. They created skateboards for their pumpkins, just like the pumpkins used in the story!

First graders in Mrs. Schaeding’s class enjoyed Pumpkin Day today! Students moved throughout stations in the classroom and participated in several hands-on pumpkin activities.

Fire Safety this week 🚒🔥♥️

Second graders created escape paths for ozobots as an extension of their fire safety work this week!

We started our Fire Safety outside but Mother Nature brought us in. Regardless, 1st graders had fun and learned a lot about Fire Safety.
