Ms. Fonger's sixth graders learned about "Other People Matter" during their first P2 lesson. They learned about building positive relationships with other people and wrote their own definitions of Other People Matter. They are posted in the classroom doorway to remind us as we enter to collaborate and care about others!

North Elementary is excited to bring the character strength education program called “The Positivity Project” (or “P2”) beginning February 20th in all classes and grades at North. The program is part of a nationwide movement and is focused around positive psychology’s scientifically-validated 24 character strengths. Students will discover ways to recognize these strengths in themselves and others to help build stronger relationships with their school community. Our first character strength will be 'Other People Mindset.' More information can be found in your child's Friday folder.

Sixth grade students were empowered by their science knowledge to create a smoothie tailored for better digestion in Ms. Fonger's class. They got to sample each group's smoothies in a taste test this week. Smoothies included ingredients such as bananas, blueberries, raspberries, and kale!

Thank you Craig Frames for donating the supplies our students used to construct Valentine boxes. They realized there’s quite a bit of critical thinking involved in building a box! 😉
