In 6th grade science, students used penny launchers to investigate how the amount of force and mass will impact the change in motion of an object! They did a great job running a fair investigation!

Today we started off in the gym enjoying breakfast for everyone! It was a great chance for our parents/guardians to come in and enjoy breakfast with us! Thanks to our wonderful kitchen staff for making this happen.

Hello North Families!
This week started our kick off to March is Reading Month. On March 1st, we had an awesome assembly by Nelson's Wildlife Safari. It was perfect for our
"Wild About Reading" theme. This month we will also have special dress up days too. Your student should have brought home a Reading Month calendar with
all the dress up days and fun activities to celebrate reading. If you did not receive one, please have your student come to the office to get one. The dress up days will
also be announced on Thrillshare and North Elementary School fb page. Also, any girls age 8-11 that are interested in competing for the title of Wee Queen of Scots
for the Highland Festival may pick up an application packet in the office. And lastly, if you child is in need of clothing for the upcoming Spring season, please contact the
office and we will send home a form for My School Closet so that they may receive some gently used outfits. If you have clothes to donate to that program, there is a bin
in both Elementary buildings.
Please stay safe over the weekend with our newest "Stormageddon" that is supposed to arrive sometime tonight. Have a great weekend!

5th graders had an engaging opportunity with Wildlife Safari to kick off reading month!

Yesterday we kicked off our reading month with an amazing and engaging opportunity to learn about animals as we get set for a rainforest reading adventure! The sixth graders were excited to get up close and touch the animals as well as learn some new facts about each one.

Today in 6th grade during our P2 activity the students learned about the "Love of Learning." Every student memorized an interesting fact and shared it with the rest of the class. Here are some interesting facts that we learned:
Like fingerprints, everyone's tongue print is different.
There are 293 ways to make change for a dollar.
In the course of an average lifetime, while sleeping you might eat around 70 assorted insects and 10 spiders, or more.

Reminder: Friday, March 3rd is a half day of school and students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM. This marks the end of the 2nd trimester. Enjoy the time off and see you back on Monday, March 6th.

Tomorrow is "Birds of a Feather Day;" which means wear colorful clothing as part of our rainforest reading adventure!

Sixth graders inspired each other to revise and improve their vehicles during rubber band power races in STEAM.
