Happy Valentine's Day from our 6th graders! We had another wonderful class party and also enjoyed many treats and cards from our friends!

We love when students want to improve our school! A student asked to take home this broken stapler and then brought it back fixed! It works perfectly! Thank you, E!

The 3rd grade staff and students would like to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to the Gratiot Community Foundation and the Molly Castillon Happy Faces Fund for funding our flexible seating grant. Together, we are tailoring student learning environments and experiences.

This week our school community will be focusing on the character strength of Love. Love means you value close relationships with others and being close to people.
“Love has nothing to do with what you are expecting to get – only what you are expecting to give – which is everything.”--KATHARINE HEPBURN

This is a reminder that there is no school for students tomorrow, Monday, February 12, 2024. We look forward to seeing students back on Tuesday!

4th graders had fun supporting the Super Bowl team they are going to be rooting for this weekend!

4th graders were able to work with 2nd graders during a STEAM activity about landforms. They used candy bars to recreate how mountains are made and used sand trays with marbles to show how land moves. We want to thank Ric's and Dollar General for the donations of the candy bars!

In science today, sixth graders investigated how the weight and the strength of a push affects how an object will move after a collision. They used empty and weighted pop cans and different size binder clips to engage with force and motion!

In 6th grade Math the students have been working on a unit called, Hands on Equations. This unit helps empower the students' thinking and using their Algebra skills. By the end of the unit the students have become great problem solvers in better understanding of how to solve and find a variable.

Mrs.Hull's class held a Kindness poster contest. Our 2nd place winners are pictured with their awesome artwork! Their prize is to have their artwork displayed throughout our school to share the message to BE KIND! Great job, kids!

North students started building their Valentine boxes in STEAM lab this week. THANK YOU CRAIG FRAMES FOR SUPPLYING US WITH THE BOX MATERIALS!

This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Cheering Others’ Successes. This means when other people succeed, I am happy for them and cheer them on.

Some 4th graders (and a lot of adults) were excited to see Punxsutawney Phil predict an early spring! The kids had fun seeing how the community celebrated in Gobbler's Knob, Pennsylvania!

5th graders helped celebrate Ms. Mindy's Birthday today!

Last week our building celebrated and participated in the Great Kindness Challenge by completing as many kindness acts as possible. We also took a whole school building photo spelling out the word "KIND."

Here are our January students of the month! These students represented positive character strengths throughout the month of January! Congratulations

Third graders used Edison robots to create snowplows in STEAM lab. The goal was to clear the "snow and ice" from the parking lot in the fewest passes possible. They definitely used their engineering skills to design working Lego plows!
