Reminder: Friday, March 3rd is a half day of school and students will be dismissed at 11:30 AM. This marks the end of the 2nd trimester. Enjoy the time off and see you back on Monday, March 6th.

Tomorrow is "Birds of a Feather Day;" which means wear colorful clothing as part of our rainforest reading adventure!

Sixth graders inspired each other to revise and improve their vehicles during rubber band power races in STEAM.

Kids had a fun kickoff to reading month in the rainforest at a wildlife assembly.

4th graders at the Wildlife assembly petting an alligator, snake, armadillo and wallaby! A huge "Thank You!" to Mrs. Ostroske for arranging this to kick off Reading Month!

February Students of the Month!

North students striving for excellence in the month of February! 📖

We are kicking off our reading month with a Safari Assembly tomorrow and don't forget it's "Read a Shirt Day"--Favorite Sports team edition

Students will be inspired to read and participate in this month's reading activities.

Thanks to Vicki Parling, here's a blast from the past! For years, North Elementary has built positive relationships with community members!

Friday night some of our North students performed a pom pom routine at halftime of the basketball game! With limited practice, they did phenomenal!

This week the Positivity Project (P2) focuses on: LOVE OF LEARNING

5th graders became empowered learners by building their very own city with the blue blocks provided by STEAM teacher Mrs. Hindbaugh-Marr!

Sixth graders built and raced bobsleds in STEAM to practice the problem solving skills they will need for their upcoming mini soap box derby!

4th graders went to South School to do an erosion activity with 2nd graders. They were great role models and did an excellent job leading the activity!

Ms. Fonger's sixth graders learned about "Other People Matter" during their first P2 lesson. They learned about building positive relationships with other people and wrote their own definitions of Other People Matter. They are posted in the classroom doorway to remind us as we enter to collaborate and care about others!

Ithaca Public Schools Kindergarten Registration is just around the corner. Please contact the South Office if you have an incoming kindergarten student at 989-875-4741. Registration is on April 20, 4-7:30 PM at South Elementary.

We're excited to kick off the "Positivity Project" (P2) at North Elementary. The intro week includes a focus on the "Other People Mindset."

Dear North Families:
We hope you had a great week! We are excited and happy to introduce a new social/emotional program for
our students - The Positivity Project. Please look for more information on this included with The Buzz newsletter.
Have a great weekend :)

North Elementary is excited to bring the character strength education program called “The Positivity Project” (or “P2”) beginning February 20th in all classes and grades at North.
The program is part of a nationwide movement and is focused around positive psychology’s scientifically-validated 24 character strengths. Students will discover ways to recognize these strengths in themselves and others to help build stronger relationships with their school community. Our first character strength will be 'Other People Mindset.' More information can be found in your child's Friday folder.
