What is the Free Summer Meal Program?
This Summer, Ithaca Public Schools will be providing free breakfast and lunch on Monday through Friday to anyone under the age of 18.
Who pays for the cost of the meals?
Recently the Michigan Department of Education approved Ithaca Public Schools application for the Summer free breakfast and lunch program. The State of Michigan will reimburse Ithaca Public Schools for each meal served to a person under the age of 18.
When and where can children under 18 get a free breakfast and/or lunch?
The meals will be served on weekdays in the Jr/Sr High School Cafeteria on from June 19 through September 1 and at North Elementary from June 19 through June 23. Breakfast is served from 7:15 AM - 8:45 AM and lunch is served from 11:15 AM to 12:45 PM.
- The meal program will be closed the week of July 3 - July 7 due to the Fourth of July holiday.
- Dates/times/locations subject to change based on community need.
Can students attending summer events at the school participate?
Yes, anyone under the age 18 will be eligible for a free weekday breakfast and/or lunch; this includes Champ Camp students and students attending sports practices and events.
