WELCOME TO THE 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR!Welcome to the North Elementary web page! I am the principal, Paula Peterson. This is my first year at North Elementary and I am excited for a great school year! Our building has gotten a complete facelift, with all classrooms getting new carpet, ceilings, and windows, and the exterior recieving new landscaping. The building is going to look beautiful! PTO Carnival:
The annual PTO Carnival will be Friday, May 11. Please plan on being there and if you would like to volunteer for help contact the PTO (ithacapto@hotmail.com).
6th Grade Camp:
All medications for 6th grade Camp are due to the office by 3:30 on Monday, May 14, with the medication form. Please remember that students cannot transport these items, they need to be brought in by an adult. We will be leaving Wednesday at 9:15 and returning Friday at 4:00. Please be in the gym parking lot early to get your childs' belongings.
Fun and Fitness Day:
We need your help! We are having our fun and fitness days on May 31 (3/4 grades) and June 1 (5/6 grades) in the afternoons. We are in need of some items to be donated: dish soap bottles, 16 oz. styrofoam cups, large carwash sponges, and ice cream buckets. If you could help with these it is greatly appreciated!
Field Trip Policy:
North Elementary is implementing a new Board approved field trip policy for rewards-based field trips only (AR party, 6th camp, Loons game, etc.). Beginning March 28, 2012 through the end of the 2011-12 school year, if a student receives 4 or more RTC referrals or is suspended for offenses that fall under general or gross misconduct (these are listed on page 10-11 in the student handbook), then they will not be allowed to attend any rewards-based field trips. This policy is designed to be more specific about the factors that will determine rewards-based field trip eligibility. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

After School Study Group:
After school study group has begun on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The sessions run from 3:08-4:00 at no cost. All you need to do is get a form from the office and turn it in if you are interested in this opportunity for your student(s).
